About The Position
Empowerment Academy Charter School is seeking Special Education teachers to join their growing High School for the upcoming academic year. The school serves a diverse student population and is committed to closing the achievement gap and providing a quality educational program. They emphasize teamwork, community, and teacher support, aiming to achieve academic success without teacher burnout through effective programs and professional development.
Requirements
- Hold a New Jersey Department of Education CE, Limited CE, CEAS or Standard Certificate in Special Education.
- To teach a High School Content Area, must be certified in that content area as well.
- TOH or TOSD Certification required.
Responsibilities
- Teach High School Mathematics, Special Education
- Teach High School ELA/English, Special Education
- Teach High School Science, Special Education
- Collaborate with peers in professional learning communities (PLCs) to plan lessons and solve problems.
- Partner with an array of specialists to meet scholars’ diverse needs.
- Utilize a research-based curriculum and supporting curricular materials.
- Employ high-quality formative assessments to identify student mastery.
- Work with reading and math specialists to support students struggling with essential skills.
- Collaborate with counselors and social workers to support students with non-academic problems.
