About The Position

Provide special education students with learning activities and experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Develop or modify curricula and prepare lessons and other instructional materials to match student ability levels. Work in self-contained, team, departmental, or itinerant capacity as assigned.

Requirements

  • Valid Texas Teacher Certification with appropriate endorsement for Special Education.
  • Master's degree in Special Education or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in Special Education, preferably in Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE).
  • Knowledge of child development and special education methodologies.
  • Ability to develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in using educational technology and assistive devices.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual in Spanish and English.
  • Experience with Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS).
  • Training in specific disabilities such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or Down Syndrome.
