About The Position
Special Education teacher for grade 3 through grade 5. The position utilizes the following curricula: math curriculum = Ready Math, reading curriculum = Reading Wonders, science curriculum = STEMscopes. Intervention tools include i-Ready, and supplemental math resources like Building Thinking Classrooms. Supplemental reading support uses OG Morphology.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree
- Valid Hawaii teaching license or Emergency Hire Permit upon hire
Nice To Haves
- Valid Special Education license from the Hawaii Teacher Standards Board
- Special education classroom experience in a K-12 school setting
Responsibilities
- Plan and facilitate Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings
- Exercise independent and professional judgment in carrying out daily functions
- Maintain an effective work pace under pressure to meet deadlines
- Grasp new concepts quickly and apply them effectively
- Work effectively with others
