About The Position

Innovations Academy is looking for a dynamic Special Education Teacher to join our team! This position provides specialized instruction and behavioral support to K-2 students with diverse learning and emotional needs in a therapeutic day school setting. This position develops and implements IEPs, modifies curriculum, fosters a structured and supportive classroom environment and collaborates with therapists, staff and families to promote academic and functional growth.

Innovations Academy is part of the Streamwood Behavioral Healthcare System (SBHS), a 178-bed acute care facility located in Streamwood, IL and has been providing mental health treatment to the Chicagoland community and the state of Illinois since 1991. Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent is REQUIRED.
• LBS1 Endorsement REQUIRED.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Diplomacy and discretion are essential.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Professional demeanor and appearance required.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's or Master's preferred.
• 1-3 years experience in a therapeutic day school preferred.
