About The Position

Requirements

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or related field
Valid Colorado Teaching License with Special Education endorsement (required or eligible)
Experience working with students with disabilities (preferred)
Strong knowledge of IEP development and compliance
Classroom management and behavioral intervention strategies
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Organizational and documentation accuracy
Patience, empathy, and student-centered approach
Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary school environment

Nice To Haves

Experience with autism spectrum disorders, learning disabilities, or emotional/behavioral disorders
Familiarity with assistive technology and inclusive classroom practices

Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and manage Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
Provide specialized instruction tailored to students’ academic and developmental needs
Adapt curriculum, lesson plans, and instructional strategies for diverse learners
Monitor and document student progress and adjust instruction as needed
Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff
Manage classroom behavior using positive reinforcement and structured interventions
Conduct assessments and participate in IEP meetings and reviews
Maintain accurate records in compliance with federal and state regulations
Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and goals
Support students’ social, emotional, and life skills development
