About The Position

Cross Country Education is seeking dedicated Special Education Teachers (LBS1) for 8 openings in Chicago, IL for the 2026–2027 school year. This role involves helping high school students overcome barriers, close learning gaps, and find their path to graduation. The position requires delivering specialized instruction for high school students with mild-to-moderate disabilities, developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that address social, emotional, and academic barriers for students returning to an educational setting. It also involves proactively supporting students facing barriers using behavior management and crisis intervention strategies, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to create flexible, student-centered learning environments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s preferred)
  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement for high school
  • Strong behavior management and crisis intervention skills with a high degree of adaptability
