About The Position

Riverside Community Care is seeking a Special Education Teacher for the Riverside School, a 766-approved Private Therapeutic Day School. The school offers student-centered, clinically intensive educational experiences that foster respect, growth, and learning. Services support leadership opportunities, focusing on students' academic achievement, social-emotional functioning, and community engagement. The school serves students in grades 6-12 with a low student-teacher ratio, structured group and individual therapy, and community engagement opportunities. Educational and clinical staff collaborate to ensure student progress in academic and therapeutic development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Special Education with licensure in moderate disabilities required.
  • One year post degree experience working with children and/or adolescents in an academic setting preferred.
  • Degree and experience must be in compliance with current program needs to meet DESE staffing requirements.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Basic computer fluency, including Microsoft Office.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree in Special Education with licensure in moderate disabilities strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Implementing the academic and classroom components of each student's individualized IEP requirements.
  • Data tracking student progress towards IEP goals.
  • Facilitating student learning based on sending district requirements.
  • Collaborating with the multi-disciplinary team in the provision of appropriate services to students and families.
