About The Position

SchoolHouse Staffing is hiring a dedicated Special Education / Diverse Learner Teacher (Intervention Specialist) to support students in grades K–4 at a partner school in Cincinnati, OH. This is an in-person, full-time role for a licensed educator who is passionate about helping young learners with learning differences build the reading and math foundations they need to thrive. You'll carry a manageable caseload of approximately 20 students, delivering a blend of push-in and pull-out support with a primary focus on reading (fluency and comprehension) and foundational math skills. The students you serve are most commonly identified with Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD) and Developmental Delays (DD). If you want a role where your individual impact is visible every day — and where you're supported by a collaborative team — we'd love to meet you.

Requirements

  • Valid Ohio teaching license with an Intervention Specialist endorsement (Mild/Moderate Educational Needs preferred) — required.
  • Ability to work in person, full-time (40 hours/week) at a Cincinnati-area campus.
  • Strong knowledge of IEP development, progress monitoring, and special education compliance.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills with students, colleagues, and families.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience teaching elementary (grades K–4).
  • Background in early reading intervention (fluency/comprehension) and/or foundational math instruction.
  • Experience supporting students with SLD and DD.
  • Familiarity with push-in and pull-out service delivery models.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct, specialized instruction through both push-in (co-teaching/in-class) and pull-out (small-group/individual) models for students in grades K–4.
  • Deliver targeted intervention in reading fluency and comprehension and foundational math, tailored to each student's IEP goals.
  • Manage a caseload of roughly 20 students, serving as case manager for assigned learners.
  • Write, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), including goal-setting, progress monitoring, and required documentation.
  • Collect and analyze student data to drive instruction and demonstrate measurable growth.
  • Collaborate closely with general education teachers, related-service providers, and families to ensure students receive consistent, coordinated support.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, eligibility determinations, and re-evaluations in compliance with IDEA and Ohio state requirements.
  • Adapt curriculum, materials, and assessments to meet the needs of students with SLD, DD, and other identified disabilities.
  • Maintain a positive, structured, and inclusive learning environment.

Benefits

  • A manageable caseload (~20 students) so you can focus on real, individualized impact.
  • A collaborative, team-based environment with general education and related-service partners.
  • The chance to make a direct difference for students in the community you serve.
  • Full-time stability with a clear, defined role and the support to do it well.
