About The Position

Cross Country Education is seeking a compassionate and skilled Special Education Teacher (Cognitive Impairment) to create meaningful learning experiences that empower high school students to reach their full potential during the 2026–2027 school year in Dearborn, MI. This role involves providing specialized instruction and individualized educational support for a small caseload of high school students with cognitive impairments. The teacher will develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), tracking student progress and adjusting instruction as needed. Collaboration with educators, related service providers, and families is key to supporting students' academic, social, and functional growth. The goal is to foster a safe, inclusive classroom environment that encourages independence and student success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field required
  • Valid Michigan Teaching Certification with a K–12 Special Education endorsement
  • Cognitive Impairment (CI) endorsement required

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree preferred
  • Experience developing IEPs and implementing evidence-based instructional practices preferred
