About The Position

The Marshfield R-1 School District is seeking a Special Education Teacher for the 2026-27 school year at Hubble Elementary. This position involves developing and implementing Individual Educational Plans (IEPs), collaborating with staff, and providing specialized instruction for students with disabilities. The teacher will create a flexible learning environment that maximizes student benefit from the general education curriculum with appropriate supports. The role also includes adhering to district policies, attending meetings and professional development, and performing other duties as assigned by administrators. A background check satisfactory to the Board of Education is required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Certification in cross-categorical K-12
  • Updated transcript of college credit
  • Knowledge of appropriate grade level and functional curriculum associated with the position
  • Knowledge of requirements of Missouri Assessment Program (MAP) and MAP-A
  • Successfully pass a background check that are satisfactory to the Board of Education

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement Individual Educational Plans (IEP)
  • Attend/participate in appropriate and relevant meetings and staffings
  • Initiate and complete required paperwork within established timelines
  • Collaborate with appropriate staff/individuals regarding student programs and services
  • Be available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the normal instructional day when required or requested under reasonable terms
  • Develop a schedule that is conducive to student learning
  • Provide leadership to his/her students in the learning process
  • Develop reasonable rules addressing classroom behavior and procedures in the classroom that maintains fair and just order in the classroom
  • Plan and provide appropriate learning experiences for students with disabilities in a variety of educational settings
  • Create a flexible program and learning environment that provides specialized instruction for students with disabilities, such that the students benefit from the general education curriculum to the greatest extent possible when supported with supplemental aides, accommodations, and other needed supports
  • Attend special education staffing and faculty meetings and serve on committees as assigned
  • Attend professional development as assigned by district/building-level administrators
  • Adhere to all federal, state, and local policies
  • Perform any other duties and responsibilities as directed by the Building Principal and/or Director of Special Services
  • Understand and support the District's Comprehensive School Improvement Plan
