K-12 Special Education Teacher
About The Position
Cross Country Education is seeking dedicated Special Education Teachers to join their team for the 2026-2027 school year in Lancaster, SC. The role involves adapting curriculum for students with diverse academic and functional needs in K-12 settings, managing Resource, Co-Taught, or Self-Contained classrooms. Responsibilities include developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for caseloads of 12 to 33 students, supervising assistants, implementing behavioral strategies, and collaborating with general education teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to promote inclusive practices and monitor student progress.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education or related field
- Valid South Carolina Certification in Multi-Categorical (ED, MD, EMD, or TMD/Severe also accepted)

Responsibilities
- Adapt curriculum to meet the diverse academic and functional needs of students with various disabilities.
- Lead Resource, Co-Taught, or Self-Contained classrooms across K-12 settings.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for caseloads ranging from 12 to 33 students.
- Supervise assistants and implement specialized behavioral or moderate-needs strategies.
- Partner with general education teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to facilitate inclusive practices and monitor student progress toward annual goals.
