• Education Specialist Instruction Credential - Mod/Severe

Nice To Haves

• Preliminary and clear credential Special Education Teacher (SPED) assigned to TAP, PERL, FA, or SCIL classrooms with a seniority date after July 1, 2026.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct instruction to students with exceptional needs.
• Coordinate instructional programs for students with exceptional needs enrolled in resource specialist programs.

Benefits

• Regionalized Program Special Education (SPED) Hiring Bonus: $10,000 split over three years ($5,000 Year 1, $2,500 Year 2, $2,500 Year 3), prorated by FTE and percentage of work year. Bonus is for preliminary and clear credential SPED teachers assigned to specific classrooms with a seniority date after July 1, 2026. Unit members must be actively employed by Vacaville Unified to receive the bonus.
• Additional yearly pay for Master's degree or National Board Certification ($1879).
• Additional yearly pay for Master's degree and National Board Certification or Doctorate ($1879).
• Separate Salary Schedule for Special Education teachers (additional 10% compared to classroom teachers).
• 95 hours of flexible work time outside of duty day for caseload management.
• SDC teachers have 3 release days per school year for assessment and report writing.
