Special Education teachers at IDEA Public Schools are responsible for the academic achievement and support of special education students. They develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and work with students who have a wide range of learning, cognitive, emotional, and physical disabilities. This role provides in-class support for subjects like reading, writing, and math, and teaches content mastery for students with specific accommodations and service minutes. The Special Education teacher acts as a crucial link between home and school for high-need students and their families. This position is grant-funded through IDEA B Grant funds, and while funding may be extended, there is no guarantee of ongoing employment. All duties are directly tied to allowable activities within the grant program.
