About The Position

Easterseals NH is looking for a Special Education Teacher for The Gammon Academy, a program that helps individuals aged 8-21 learn social skills, succeed in school, and enjoy recreational experiences. The student population includes individuals with Autism, other neurobehavioral challenges, mild cognitive impairments, and social/emotional disabilities. Students participate in community volunteer work and staff provide rich learning experiences.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree with Certification in Special Education OR have passed the praxis with a letter of eligibility for Special Education.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Implement classroom programming to meet the educational, social and vocational needs of students with disabilities.
• Design a classroom environment that is motivating and stimulating.
• Lesson planning and implementation
• Supervise Paraprofessionals
• Gather and report data on student progress.
