About The Position

TheraPeds Partners is a therapist-owned and operated organization that partners with schools to provide Special Education Teaching (SPED) services to PreK–12 students nationwide. As a team of special education providers, we understand the education process, IDEA requirements, and the importance of collaboration within multidisciplinary teams. Our mission is to deliver high-quality Special Education Teaching and Case Management (SPED) services while making meaningful connections in a collaborative learning environment. This is a full-time, on-site role as a Special Education Teacher: Instructional Strategist II Endorsement serving a school located in Marshalltown, IA. The Special Education Teacher: Instructional Strategist II Endorsement will be responsible for providing teaching and case management services to students, conducting assessments, developing IEP plans, evaluating progress, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams (therapists, educators, parents). The role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a passion for working with students with special needs.

Requirements

  • Valid Iowa teaching license issued by the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners
  • Teaching Certification, Bachelors or Masters Degree or higher in Special Education
  • Current Iowa Instructional Strategist II (IS II) endorsement, including one of the following: K-12 Instructional Strategist II: Behavior Disorders/Learning Disabilities (BD/LD) – Endorsement #263 or K-12 Instructional Strategist II: Intellectual Disabilities (ID) – Endorsement #264
  • Fingerprint background clearance
  • Ability to collaborate with school staff and parents with a demonstrated ability to exercise a high level of tact and discretion in both internal and external communications
  • Teachers with this endorsement may: teach in self-contained special education classrooms, provide functional academics, support adaptive/life skills instruction, develop and implement IEPs, collaborate with related service providers and families.
  • The Iowa endorsement number for this credential is 264.
  • "Instructional Strategist II" is Iowa’s term for certain special education teaching licenses. ID” stands for Intellectual Disabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and assess individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities.
  • Deliver instruction tailored to meet the diverse learning styles and needs of students.
  • Collaborate with parents, educators, and specialists to ensure a comprehensive approach to student learning and support.
  • Monitor student progress and adapt instructional strategies to improve outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance, behavior, and progress to inform ongoing instruction and planning.
  • Create a welcoming, safe, and productive classroom environment that encourages positive behavior and learning.
