This position involves planning and delivering specially designed instruction for students, focusing on academic, functional, communication, and social skills. The role requires creating a structured, welcoming, and safe learning environment to minimize distractions and enhance skill generalization. The teacher will generate and implement instructional materials, visual/environmental supports, and data collection systems, using data-driven decisions to revise programming and interventions. A key aspect of the role is utilizing evidence-based instructional and behavioral practices specific to students with autism, and implementing/collecting data to support student progress and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs). The position also includes attending annual crisis prevention and response training, communicating effectively with various stakeholders, and adhering to special education laws and policies.
