This position is for a special education moderate disability Pre K Inclusion Teacher at Moody Pre School for the 2026-2027 School Year. Bilingual candidates are preferred. The role involves providing direct services for children in integrated and pullout settings as determined by IEPs, developing modifications for regular classrooms, participating in evaluation teams, evaluating referred children, developing reports and IEPs, training Educational Support Personnel, and coordinating team meetings. The teacher will work cooperatively with other personnel and parents. The role requires strong knowledge of subject matter and pedagogy, understanding of student developmental levels and learning styles, ability to design differentiated learning experiences, and design units of instruction with measurable outcomes. It also involves designing and administering various assessments, analyzing assessment data to improve student learning, providing feedback to students and families, and maintaining high expectations for student work. The teacher will use instructional practices to motivate and engage students, accommodate differences in learning, and create a safe physical and intellectual environment. Cultural proficiency, clear communication of standards, modeling effective effort, and adapting instruction for all students are also key aspects. The role includes engaging families in the classroom and school community, collaborating with students, updating parents on curriculum, and providing clear expectations for student learning and behavior. Effective two-way communication with families, respectful communication, and reflection on practice are essential. Collaboration with colleagues, contributing to decision-making, and reinforcing schoolwide expectations are also part of the role. Additional responsibilities include instruction and general duties as indicated by the building Principal, Director of Special Education, Superintendent of Schools, and School Committee policies.
