Requirements

Certification by the Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE) as a Special Education Teacher.
Certified in Severe Disabilities (all ages) or Mild/Moderate Disabilities (Grades PK-8) with willingness to obtain Severe Disabilities Certification.

Responsibilities

Collaborates and co-teaches daily with other educator and specialists in the planning, adapting, and teaching of the general education curriculum for all learners.
Plans and implements motivating and creative age-appropriate lessons and activities to address goals as outlined in each students’ IEP.
Collaborates with other teachers and therapists to implement an integrated educational/ therapeutic model.
Creates a learning environment where the students are stimulated and motivated to work to their best potential.
