Requirements

  • Moderate Disabilities 5–12 licensure (or equivalent Special Education certification)
  • Experience teaching middle or high school students
  • Ability to teach either Math or Science curriculum (subject-specific role)
  • Experience working with students with emotional or behavioral needs
  • Comfortable in a self-contained classroom setting
  • Experience developing and delivering structured lesson plans aligned to IEPs

Nice To Haves

  • Content area licensure in Math or Science
  • Experience in therapeutic, alternative, or specialized school settings

Responsibilities

  • Deliver Math or Science instruction to middle and high school students in a self-contained classroom
  • Develop and implement curriculum aligned to student IEPs and learning goals
  • Support students with emotional and behavioral needs in a structured environment
  • Collaborate with teaching assistants and therapeutic staff to support student success
  • Maintain a consistent classroom structure and learning routine
  • Participate in a year-round academic model, including summer programming
  • Provide classroom coverage as needed using prepared lesson plans
