The Neshaminy School District is seeking to hire a Life Skills Support Teacher for the 2026-27 school year. This position is anticipated to start in August of 2026 for the 2026-2027 school year. The Life Skills Support Teacher provides specially designed instruction to students with significant cognitive, developmental, communication, adaptive, and/or multiple disabilities who require intensive support to access and make meaningful progress in their education program. Instruction is explicit, systematic, evidence-based, and tailored to each student's individual needs, which may include instruction in foundational academic areas such as English language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies, as well as in functional academics, communication, social and interpersonal skills, self-regulation, personal care, as appropriate, to each student's needs. The teacher works collaboratively with families, general education teachers, paraprofessionals, related service providers, administrators, and other members of the IEP team to provide a coordinated educational program that maintains high expectations, promotes meaningful inclusion, and develops each student's independence.
