The Special Education Teacher will provide high-quality, individualized instruction and support for students with disabilities. This role involves implementing and managing the Individualized Education Program (IEP) process, collaborating with families and multidisciplinary teams, and creating an inclusive learning environment that promotes academic progress, independence, and positive social-emotional development. The position requires knowledge of state core curriculum standards, district educational goals, and student academic growth. The teacher will be responsible for developing lesson plans, providing individualized and small group instruction, establishing and maintaining student behavior standards, and identifying student needs. This role also includes maintaining professional competence, communicating with students and parents, ensuring confidentiality of student records, participating in school-level planning and meetings, and maintaining professional rapport with colleagues. Additionally, the teacher will demonstrate strong parent/community relations skills, fulfill professional responsibilities beyond the classroom, and develop documentation of IEPs and student progress. This position is subject to the Students First Act of 2011 and requires a background check.
