About The Position

Ampersand Therapy is hiring a full-time Early Childhood Special Education Teacher for a school setting in Anniston, AL. In this role, you’ll play a critical part in student success by providing specialized instruction and support to Pre-K and Kindergarten students, collaborating with general education teachers and multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring compliance with IEP goals and student progress. This is a great fit for both seasoned special education teachers and those new to school-based settings.

Requirements

Hold or be eligible for Alabama Early Childhood Special Education P–3 certification
Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Early Childhood Special Education, or a related field from an accredited institution
Knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
Experience or knowledge supporting young children with disabilities
Strong communication and collaboration skills

Nice To Haves

School-based or early childhood special education experience preferred, not required

Responsibilities

Provide specialized, IEP-driven instruction and support for Pre-K and Kindergarten students
Collaborate with general education teachers to support students in inclusive classroom settings
Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals, accommodations, and modifications
Assess student progress and maintain accurate data, reports, and compliance documentation
Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and families
Differentiate instruction based on individual developmental and educational needs
Support positive behavior, functional skills, and student engagement
Ensure compliance with state and district guidelines for IEP development, timelines, and implementation
