About The Position
North Marion High School is seeking a Special Education Teacher & Case Manager to create a vibrant learning community for students in our Basic Skills and Transitions classroom. This position plays a key role in supporting students with special needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree with an endorsement in Special Education
- Valid Oregon Teaching License with applicable Special Education endorsements and authorization level(s)
- Must meet all other TSPC license requirements, including Background and Criminal History Clearance
- Ability to maintain strength of knowledge and practice in instructional skills and strategies
- Ability to demonstrate knowledge of subject matter, to seek professional growth, improve classroom instruction, and to qualify for license renewal by following both state and district regulations
Responsibilities
- Support the identification of students in need of Special Education Services
- Diagnosis of learning needs
- Writing and implementation of Individual Education Programs (IEP)
- Consult with and provide assistance to classroom teachers in their efforts to support students experiencing disabilities in their classroom
- Establish relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to foster a sense of belonging and community
