About The Position
HealthPRO Pediatrics is seeking a full-time Special Education Teacher Assistant to support students with diverse learning and behavioral needs in a school-based setting. This role works under the direction of a certified special education teacher to assist with instructional delivery, classroom management, and implementation of individualized student supports.
Requirements
- High school diploma required
- Previous experience working with children, preferably in a special education setting
- Ability to follow directions and implement behavior and instructional plans
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Nice To Haves
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Experience supporting students with autism, ADHD, or other developmental needs preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide direct support to students in both small group and one-on-one settings
- Assist with implementation of IEP goals and accommodations
- Support classroom instruction and daily activities
- Help manage student behavior using established intervention strategies
- Collect and record student data as directed by the teacher or BCBA
- Assist with transitions, routines, and reinforcement strategies
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and support staff
- Maintain a safe, supportive, and structured learning environment
