About The Position
This is a 10-month position for a Special Education Teacher Assistant in a Secondary Adapted program. Candidates hired for this role are required to be on the RCPS approved driving list.
Requirements
- Ability to develop and maintain an empathetic attitude toward disabled students
- Ability to work cooperatively with others in a positive manner
- Willingness to learn specialized instructional/management techniques with disabled students, as needed
- Willingness to seek and maintain Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation(CPR)/Automated External Defibrillator(AED)/First Aid certification
- Ability to communicate and develop effective working relationships with students, parents, and staff
- Education equivalent to graduation from an accredited high school or General Education Development Certificate (GED)
Nice To Haves
- Two years of college
- 12 undergraduate credits in math/English
- Passing score on the ParaPro Assessment
