About The Position

Stoneham Public Schools is seeking an experienced special educator with training and expertise in specialized instructional methods, assessment and extensive knowledge of research-based best practices to serve elementary students with IEPs in the Resource Room. In addition to providing intensive, specialized instruction to address IEP goals and objectives, this Resource Room teacher will collaborate and consult with classroom teachers; participate in on-going data team meetings; and closely monitor the progress of all students on his/her caseload. This special educator’s role will also include conducting Academic Evaluations for initial evaluations, and it requires knowledge of formal diagnostic assessments and the ability to interpret and analyze results in order to provide oral and written evaluation and progress reports.

Requirements

  • MA DESE license in Moderate Special Needs
  • Training and certification in systematic, multisensory reading instruction, such as Wilson Reading (desired)
  • SEI endorsement
