About The Position

This position is for a Special Education / Pupil Personnel Services - Instructional Coach focusing on the General Curriculum. The role is open until filled and operates on a 10.50-month teacher scale.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited college or university.
• Hold an active teaching license.
• Possess a minimum of three years of successful teaching experience in public education, particularly in the area of Special Education.

• Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide thorough knowledge of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act of 2004 (IDEA).
• Apply thorough knowledge of the evaluation/identification and needs of students with disabilities.
• Utilize extensive knowledge of specially designed instruction to support the needs of diverse learners academically and behaviorally.
• Employ thorough knowledge of various methods of data collection and subsequent analysis and interpretation of data to drive appropriate instructional recommendations, decisions, and interventions.
• Apply thorough knowledge of varied teaching practices and strategies, classroom accommodations, modifications, classroom management, and varied assessment techniques.
• Utilize thorough knowledge of instruction and education principles, practices, and procedures.
• Apply thorough knowledge of the principles and methodology of effective teaching.
• Adhere to thorough knowledge of school division rules, regulations, and procedures.
• Utilize knowledge of data disaggregation for the purpose of evaluating student growth.
• Engage, encourage, and motivate students, parents, and staff.
• Establish and maintain standards of behavior.
• Communicate effectively with adult learners.
• Deliver articulate oral presentations and written reports.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, students, administration, and parents.
