About The Position
TheraPeds Partners is a therapist-owned and operated organization that partners with schools to provide Paraprofessional services to PreK–12 students nationwide. As a team of special education providers, we understand the education process, IDEA requirements, and the importance of collaboration within multidisciplinary teams. Our mission is to deliver high-quality Paraprofessional services while making meaningful connections in a collaborative learning environment. This is a full-time, on-site role as a Special Education Paraprofessional serving a school located in Dearborn, MI. The Paraprofessional will provide classroom and instructional support to students, assist teachers with daily educational activities, and help implement individualized student support plans. Responsibilities may include supporting academic instruction, assisting with classroom routines, providing behavioral support, monitoring student progress, and collaborating with teachers and school staff. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, patience, flexibility, and a passion for supporting students with diverse learning needs.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to meet Michigan Department of Education (MDE), Wayne RESA, and Dearborn Public Schools employment requirements for Paraprofessionals, as applicable
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities
- Comfortable using technology in an educational setting
- Ability to follow teacher direction while working independently when appropriate
- Fingerprint background clearance required
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, school staff, service providers, and families while maintaining professionalism, confidentiality, and discretion
Nice To Haves
- Associate's degree or higher preferred
- Previous experience working with children or individuals with special needs preferred
- School-based experience is beneficial but not required
