About The Position

Pinnacle Charter Academy is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional to provide instructional and behavioral assistance to students in accordance with their individual education plan (IEP) and/or their 504-behavior plan. This full-time position involves supporting students 1:1 or in small groups, committing to educating the whole student, and implementing curriculum designed to meet unique student needs. The role requires attending professional development, trainings, and IEP meetings, as well as assisting with compliance documentation. Pinnacle Academy, located in Euclid, OH, serves students K-8 and is known for its supportive culture, high academic achievement, and focus on positive student behavior.

Requirements

• Must meet state requirements for being a Title 1 paraprofessional.
• Ability to defuse situations and prevent escalation.
• Aptitude to understand and navigate technical systems.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience supporting individuals with disabilities and/or behavior modifications, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess student abilities and provide instructional and behavioral assistance for students in accordance with their individual education plan (IEP) and/or their 504-behavior plan as directed by the special education team. Support can be provided 1:1 or in small groups.
• Commit to educating the whole student – academically, morally, and socially.
• Implement result-driven curriculum and instruction specially designed to meet the unique needs of each student resulting from his/her disability such as, resource room, inclusion and/or pullout services.
• Attend professional development, specialized trainings and IEP meetings with special education team and parents as required.
• Assist with the required compliance documentation.
