This position involves managing student IEPs and educational plans, supporting the implementation of these plans, and ensuring students have access to core instruction. The role includes supporting grade-level instruction, providing modified materials, and assisting with lesson design through accommodations and modifications. The Special Education Learning Support Teacher will be an active member of grade-level PLCs, support the development and implementation of Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), and collaborate with grade-level teachers and teams. Responsibilities also include creating lesson plans and programming for students with diverse needs, implementing strategies, adapted materials, and curriculum to help students meet IEP goals, providing instruction in areas of eligibility, managing and facilitating paraeducators, and collaborating with staff to provide supportive inclusive opportunities. The role also involves providing small group instruction and continuous progress monitoring to maximize student learning. Attendance at building and district meetings and conferences is required, along with other related duties.
