About The Position

The Summit Center is Western New York’s leading provider of evidence-based services for children and adults with autism and other developmental, social, and behavioral challenges. The Teacher EAP will teach students between the ages of two and five individually in the student’s home and/or community-based setting (daycare, preschool, etc.). Deliver evidence-based assessments and interventions for children, adolescents and their families with ADHD, autism, disruptive behavior disorders and other mental health or child development concerns.

Requirements

• Bachelors or masters degree in special education from an accredited four-year college or university
• New York State Certification as a Special Education Teacher Birth-2

Responsibilities

• Assure that IFSP/IEP mandates are fulfilled
• Demonstrate professional knowledge of children with developmental disabilities
• Coordinate development of reports and recommendations
• Establish and monitor individual casebooks, data collection and charting systems
• Collaborate with related service providers, center-based staff, consultants and supervisors, as necessary
• Conduct educational activities that enhance opportunity to develop skills in areas of need
• Assure appropriate communication with parents/caregivers, including encouragement of parent participation in instructional sessions
• Assure that all required paperwork is completed
