About The Position

This is a 12-month position for a Special Education Instructional Specialist. The role involves coordinating and overseeing special education services at the school level, ensuring compliance, instructional quality, and alignment with student needs. The specialist will also design and deliver professional development and instructional coaching, provide targeted instructional support for students with disabilities, maintain communication with families and stakeholders, and participate in district-level meetings and improvement efforts.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in appropriate field.
• Minimum of five years of successful teaching experience with students with disabilities.
• Demonstrates expertise in co-teaching, differentiation, and Response to Intervention (RTI).
• Strong knowledge of special education compliance, including IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring.
• Proven leadership skills, including staff mentoring, leading collaborative teams, and effective stakeholder communication.
• Experience in planning and delivering professional development aligned with instructional best practices and district initiatives.
• Demonstrates ability to analyze student data and guide instructional decisions to improve outcomes for students with disabilities.

Nice To Haves

• Advanced Professional Certificate with endorsement in Special Education or Dual Certification strongly preferred.

Responsibilities
