About The Position

The Special Education Instructional Facilitator (SEIF) is responsible for providing instructional support and guidance to special education teachers and staff. This role focuses on improving the quality of instruction and student outcomes within special education programs. The SEIF will work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and other support personnel to ensure effective implementation of special education services and compliance with legal and district requirements.

Requirements

  • Valid Nevada Teaching License with an endorsement in Special Education.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of successful teaching experience in special education.
  • Master's degree in Special Education or a related field.
  • Knowledge of federal and state special education laws and regulations (e.g., IDEA).
  • Experience with IEP development and implementation.
  • Strong understanding of evidence-based instructional practices for students with disabilities.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to provide coaching and professional development.
  • Proficiency in data collection and analysis to inform instruction.
  • Experience with assistive technology.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience as an Instructional Coach or Facilitator.
  • Experience in a diverse K-12 setting.
  • Additional endorsements in related fields.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct instructional support and coaching to special education teachers.
  • Facilitate the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Monitor student progress and provide strategies for academic and behavioral interventions.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local special education regulations.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to promote inclusive practices.
  • Provide professional development and training to special education staff.
  • Assist in the evaluation of special education programs and services.
  • Support teachers in the use of evidence-based instructional strategies and assistive technology.
  • Serve as a resource for special education policies and procedures.
  • Participate in school-based problem-solving teams.
