About The Position

The Special Education Elementary Teacher (Resource) at Jefferson Elementary School is responsible for developing, instructing, and collecting data on students in the areas of education, behavior, and social skills. This is a 9.25-month contract position (190 days) with a benefits package. The precise salary placement will be determined by experience and LRSD's salary placement guidelines. This is an exempt FLSA position.

Requirements

Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree.
Current Arkansas certification in Special Education.
Evidence of successful experience in working with students at risk.
Evidence of ability to work well with others.
Experience in implementing non-aversive behavioral programs and social skills training.
Evidence of strong writing and organizational skills.
Evidence of ability to implement Individual Education Plans.
Evidence of a strong commitment to quality desegregated education.
Must have the ability to work for the duration of the daily contracted time period, and to be physically present and at assigned work, with only infrequent unexcused absences, during the contract year.

Responsibilities

Serves as a member of the educational management team.
Implements individual educational goals and objectives.
Collects data on students’ progress.
Meets with classes as assigned.
Performs other duties as the principal/supervisor may, from time to time, assign.
