This role involves directly assisting in the development and implementation of individualized educational programming for students, including functional academic and behavioral programming, and curriculum-based lesson and activity planning. The teacher will attend and participate in annual review/CSE meetings, ensure student supervision, and maintain an engaging classroom routine. A key responsibility is establishing and managing an organized, structured classroom environment conducive to student learning. The position requires writing differentiated weekly lesson plans, creating IEP goals, submitting progress reports, and conducting educational and vocational assessments. Collaboration with an interdisciplinary team for testing and evaluations is essential. The teacher will maintain student records, provide oversight and feedback to classroom staff, assign duties to teacher assistants, and consult with related service providers. Planning educational field trips, community experiences, and developing ADL and vocational skills are also part of the role. The teacher will implement program initiatives like PBIS and PECS, and may be required to drive agency vehicles. Other duties as designated by the Principal or Assistant Principal will also be assigned.
