The Special Education Classroom Teacher will directly assist in the development and implementation of individualized educational programming for students, including functional academic and behavioral programming, and curriculum-based lesson and activity planning. This role involves attending and participating in annual review/CSE meetings, ensuring student supervision, maintaining an engaging classroom routine, and establishing an organized, structured classroom environment conducive to student learning. The teacher is responsible for creating IEP goals, submitting progress reports, and conducting educational and vocational assessments. They will work cooperatively with an interdisciplinary team, maintain student records, and provide oversight and constructive feedback to classroom staff. Additionally, the teacher will consult with related service providers, plan educational field trips, develop programming for ADL and vocational skills, and assist students with ADLs. Implementation of program initiatives like PBIS and PECS is also a key responsibility, along with other duties as designated by the Principal or Assistant Principal.
