About The Position

This position combines two roles: Special Education Assistant (5.25 hours) and Educational Assistant (0.5 hours), totaling 5.75 hours per day. The role operates on a 10-month calendar, with working hours from 8:15 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Century High School. The position requires the successful completion of a two-day Safety Care Restraint Training and online sessions regarding Special Education Process and Procedures. Internal classified employees are not eligible to apply during their probationary period.

Requirements

• High school diploma or its equivalent
• Proficient oral and written communication skills in English
• Proficient in the use of computer and Internet based applications, including but not limited to email and systems applications
• Hold a valid certificate in a District approved student intervention system or be able to obtain in 60 days
• Experience working with children

• Bilingual English/Spanish Preferred (bilingual is defined as fluency in reading, writing and speaking in two languages as determined by District screening tool)

• Provide educational supports to all students under the direction of licensed staff with a focus on supporting Individual Education Plans.
• Supervise students in various settings and monitor for safety concerns.
