About The Position

Working from the office in Duluth, GA, the Administrative Assistant is a 12-month employee that provides comprehensive clerical and administrative support to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the Special Education Department. This role works closely with school leadership, faculty, staff, and district office personnel to facilitate daily school functions, manage communications, and assist with operational tasks. The ideal candidate is highly organized, professional, and customer-service oriented.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of working in a school or office setting required
  • Proficiency with both Microsoft Office tools such as Excel and Google Suite as well as web-based applications is essential.
  • Familiarity with information management systems, as well as on-line design and publishing

  • This position requires frequent travel throughout the state of Georgia to conduct official school business. Candidates must possess a valid driver's license, maintain a clean driving record, and be comfortable with regular day trips and occasional overnight travel as needed. A reliable personal vehicle is required.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods of Employees are also required to talk, hear, stand, and walk. Responsibilities

  • Provide general secretarial and administrative support to the director and department leadership team.
  • Perform a variety of clerical duties to support daily department operations.
  • Routinely handle internal and external correspondence/communication with discretion and accuracy.
  • Answer telephone calls and direct inquiries to the appropriate personnel.
  • Assist with department level email inbox, newsletters updates and other communication platforms.
  • Schedule and coordinate meetings, take minutes, and distribute correspondence promptly
  • Greet and assist visitors, students, staff, and parents with professionalism and courtesy (when attending school level events)
  • Maintain a working knowledge of school and district policies, events, and public information to assist faculty, staff, and the public.
  • Assist with the preparation and coordination of department audits to ensure compliance and
  • Routinely handle internal and external correspondence with discretion and
  • Generate reports and prepare documents for department level mail merge
  • Attend virtual and in-person department, school or district meetings as required
  • All GACA staff must be able to participate in monthly in-person activities including but not limited to: School level department meetings, Student Engagement Opportunities, Required training/development, School-level events Attend/support district faculty meetings and other districts evens such as graduation and school testing.
