About The Position

This position is a 1.0 FTE located at Oakridge Elementary School. The role involves implementing instructional programs tailored to student needs, maintaining a safe learning environment, communicating with parents, managing student records, collaborating with various stakeholders, and monitoring student achievement. The teacher is also expected to participate in ongoing professional development and meetings.

Requirements

• Teaching experience in special education
• Knowledge of best instructional practices
• Ability to integrate technology
• Experience in educational and instructional leadership
• Must have or be eligible for Virginia licensure.
• Special Education endorsement.

Nice To Haves

• Dual endorsement in English as a Second Language and/or Special Education, or in any other content area, is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Implements instructional programs that meet the needs, interests and abilities of students using appropriate instructional materials
• Maintains safe and orderly environment
• Communicates with parents/guardians
• Maintains complete and accurate student records
• Collaborates with school administrators, other teachers, instructional assistants, parents, and community members
