About The Position
This position is for a Special Education Teacher at H-B Woodlawn. The role involves implementing instructional programs tailored to student needs, maintaining a safe learning environment, communicating with parents, managing student records, collaborating with various stakeholders, monitoring student achievement, and participating in professional development.
Requirements
- Must have or be eligible for Virginia licensure.
- Special Education endorsement.
- Teaching experience in the above mentioned areas.
- Knowledge of best instructional practices.
- Ability to integrate technology.
- Experience in educational and instructional leadership.
Nice To Haves
- Dual endorsement in English as a Second Language and/or Special Education, or in any other content area, is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Implements instructional programs that meet the needs, interests and abilities of students using appropriate instructional materials.
- Maintains safe and orderly environment.
- Communicates with parents/guardians.
- Maintains complete and accurate student records.
- Collaborates with school administrators, other teachers, instructional assistants, parents, and community members.
- Monitors and assesses student achievement.
- Attends ongoing professional learning and meetings.
