About The Position

This position is for a Special Education Teacher focusing on students with Asperger's Syndrome at Yorktown High. The role involves creating and teaching social skills, providing direct instruction in study and organizational skills, and designing, implementing, and evaluating individual behavior management systems. Collaboration with general education teachers is a key component, as is supporting the philosophy and operation of HB Woodlawn.

Requirements

• Experience teaching children with high-functioning Autism Spectrum Disorder and Asperger's Syndrome.
• Knowledge of and experience with a variety of strategies for instruction for students with high-functioning Autism Spectrum Disorder.
• Ability to design, implement and evaluate individual behavior management systems.
• Must have or be eligible for Virginia licensure.
• Certification in Special Education.
