About The Position

This is a full-time position located at Thomas Jefferson. The role involves creating and teaching social skill lessons, providing direct instruction in study and organizational skills, and designing, implementing, and evaluating individual behavior management plans. The Special Education Teacher will also collaborate and co-teach with general education teachers and must support the philosophy and operation of HB Woodlawn.

Requirements

  • Experience teaching children with high-functioning Autism Spectrum Disorder and Asperger's Syndrome.
  • Knowledge of and experience with a variety of strategies for instruction for students with high-functioning Autism Spectrum Disorder.
  • Ability to design, implement and evaluate individual behavior management systems.
  • Must have or be eligible for Virginia licensure.
  • Certification in Special Education.
