About The Position
The Paraprofessional supports classroom instruction and student supervision under the direct supervision of a certified teacher, contributing to a structured, safe, and productive learning environment. Global Educational Excellence (GEE) operates a network of charter schools across Southeast Michigan focused on academic achievement and community. Requirements
- Completion of at least 60 semester credit hours at an accredited college or university, OR
- Associate's degree or higher, OR
- Passing score on an approved formal academic assessment (ETS ParaPro Assessment minimum 460; SAT 480+ EBRW and 530+ Math; or Michigan Basic Skills Exam)
- Satisfactory criminal background check
Responsibilities
- Assist the classroom teacher in delivering instruction and managing classroom routines
- Provide individual or small-group tutoring and academic support under teacher direction
- Support student behavior management in the classroom, hallways, cafeteria, and during transitions
- Assist with classroom preparation, materials, and field trip coordination
- Support bilingual communication and translation for students and families as applicable
- Attend staff meetings and required professional development sessions
