About The Position

The Special Education Bus Aide works within the Melvindale Northern Allen Park Public Schools district. This position is responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of students and staff during transportation. The role involves working cooperatively with various school personnel and maintaining student order according to established safety rules and district policies. A key aspect of the job is the ability to work effectively with handicapped students of all classifications.

Requirements

• Must have the ability to work with handicapped students of all classifications.
• Employees must pass all District pre-employment requirements.

Responsibilities

• Work cooperatively, harmoniously and productively with the drivers, transportation supervisor, administrative staff, building principals and the public.
• Present a positive image as a representative of the school district.
• Maintain student order at all times to ensure adherence to the safety rules.
• Observe all Board of Education policies and regulations and comply with school district work rules.
• Must have the ability to work with handicapped students of all classifications.
• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
