You'll be the first face many new clients see when they begin services with Elara Caring, helping create a positive experience from day one. Many of our leaders started as caregivers. As a Special Care Aide, you'll gain valuable experience across multiple clients, situations, and service needs while working closely with branch leadership. This role provides a unique opportunity to expand your skills, demonstrate leadership potential, and prepare for future advancement opportunities within Elara Caring.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED, where required by state regulations
- Minimum six (6) months of experience caring for elderly or disabled individuals
- Current CPR and First Aid certification required prior to first client contact
- Home Health Aide, Personal Care Aide, Homemaker, CNA, MA, or similar certification where required
- Basic technology skills and comfort using mobile devices, apps, and electronic documentation systems
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Compassionate, dependable, and patient-focused approach
- Ability to work independently and adapt to changing assignments
- Reliable personal transportation, current registration, and auto insurance
- Ability to travel throughout the assigned service area
- Ability to lift at least 25 pounds and perform physical caregiving duties
Responsibilities
- Supporting new client admissions and Start of Care visits
- Providing personal care assistance including bathing, grooming, dressing, and hygiene
- Preparing meals and assisting with daily living activities
- Performing light housekeeping and household support
- Assisting with errands and transportation when appropriate
- Monitoring and reporting changes in client condition
- Maintaining accurate documentation and visit records
- Providing coverage for open shifts, call-offs, and urgent staffing needs
- Traveling throughout the assigned service area to support clients
- Promoting Elara Caring's mission and commitment to quality care
