You'll be the first face many new clients see when they begin services with Elara Caring, helping create a positive experience from day one. Many of our leaders started as caregivers. As a Special Care Aide, you'll gain valuable experience across multiple clients, situations, and service needs while working closely with branch leadership. Requirements

High School Diploma or GED, where required by state regulations
Minimum six (6) months of experience caring for elderly or disabled individuals
NJ Board of Nursing Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) License
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Compassionate, dependable, and patient-focused approach
Ability to work independently and adapt to changing assignments
Reliable personal transportation, current registration, and auto insurance
Ability to travel throughout the assigned service area
Ability to lift at least 25 pounds and perform physical caregiving duties

Responsibilities

Supporting new client admissions and Start of Care visits
Providing personal care assistance including bathing, grooming, dressing, and hygiene
Preparing meals and assisting with daily living activities
Performing light housekeeping and household support
Assisting with errands and transportation when appropriate
Monitoring and reporting changes in client condition
Maintaining accurate documentation and visit records
Providing coverage for open shifts, call-offs, and urgent staffing needs
Traveling throughout the assigned service area to support clients
Promoting Elara Caring's mission and commitment to quality care
