About The Position

This role focuses on developing fundamentals in cost rate development, including labor, overhead, and allocation methodologies, through hands-on participation and mentorship. The position involves assisting in rate calculations, supporting schedules, and variance analysis to understand the financial impact of operational activities. It offers exposure to month-end close processes, including reconciliations, journal entries, and management reporting. The role requires collaboration with cross-functional partners in manufacturing, operations, and finance to understand business drivers of cost behavior. Emphasis is placed on developing strong data analysis skills through input validation, trend review, and identification of data quality issues. Contributions to standardized reporting, templates, and documentation are expected, along with learning internal control and audit requirements. The position also involves participating in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and transparency in cost accounting processes, and building proficiency in ERP systems and financial tools. The role includes receiving coaching to progressively take on more complex responsibilities and advance towards senior-level roles.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in an Accounting / Finance or related field, or equivalent years of experience is required.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in accounting or finance experience required.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Technical skills in account reconciliation, cost analysis and month-end close responsibilities, etc.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to consistently meet deadlines is required
  • Effective verbal, non-verbal, negotiation and written communication skills are required
  • Ability to sustain a high degree of professionalism in interacting with internal and external customers is required
  • Effective attention to detail, problem solving, analytical and organizational skills are required
  • Strong organizational skills, analytical thinking skills, problem solving and project scheduling skills is required

Responsibilities
