About The Position

The SPD Operating Room Liaison will work to coordinate and have oversight of daily activities between the Operating Room (OR) and Sterile Processing Department (SPD) to facilitate efficient case flow. Responsible for assisting in projects and process improvement initiatives in the OR and SPD. Promotes customer service/satisfaction through training, education, and resolution of issues on instrumentation in the OR. Perform duties in accordance to TJC, AORN, AAMI guidelines and following hospital policies and procedures. Assists the operating room staff in preparing the OR suite for surgery by verifying instrument(s) and trays needed are available prior to case start times. Keeps track of case flow during the day, monitors instrument needs, and notifies SPD personnel in advance of any possible additional/emergent instrumentation needs.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma plus training acquired through work experience or education required.
  • Less than one year of previous job-related experience
  • At least one year of experience.
  • Certified Sterile Processing & Distribution Technician
  • On call is required

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of previous job-related experience
