The Aerospace Corporation in El Segundo supports the Space Systems Command of the U.S. Space Force for the acquisition and integration of space systems. The Aerospace to SSC work model includes co-location of Aerospace personnel in SSC facilities and SSC personnel at Aerospace facilities. Aerospace is seeking a highly motivated, self-starter with a customer service focus to support the Special Programs Division (SPD) for projects related to customer operations. The SPD Customer Operations Project Management Specialist will report directly to the Special Programs Division General Manager and coordinate with the SYD 89 and Space Combat Power PEO (SCP-PEO) government team located on Aerospace facilities. As the largest facility manager for government, civil service, and contractor support to SYD 89/SCP-PEO, the Special Programs Division requires dedicated coordination to ensure effective and efficient operations. The selected candidate provides collaborative project leadership working directly with the SYD 89/SCP-PEO customer organization, their on-site contractors, and Aerospace support organizations including Facilities, Contracts, Finance, and Real Estate. This role includes providing information sessions and training, planning hosted events and conferences, and arranging facility tours. The selected candidate will be required to work full-time, on-site at our facility in El Segundo, CA.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 5 or more years of project management/coordination experience
  • Familiarity with configuration and data management
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Excellent project coordination skills with strategic execution of tasks
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Technical fluency with Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Experience with data analysis and metrics reporting
  • Proficiency in Excel for data tracking and analysis
  • Experience with project management tools (Jira, MS Project, or similar)
  • Strong interpersonal skills to coordinate efforts across internal and external organizations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with minimal direction
  • Ability to handle sensitive and personnel-related information with discretion
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance, issued by the US government.
  • U.S. citizenship required to obtain a security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, facilities management, or related field
  • Three or more years of relevant facilities coordination or project management experience
  • Familiarity with Aerospace corporate organizational structures, policies, processes, and practices
  • Experience working in a customer-facing organization supporting government clients
  • Track record of building, maintaining, and auditing document management and storage systems (e.g., SharePoint and Livelink)
  • Experience with space planning, facility management systems, or badging/access control systems
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification

Responsibilities

  • Manage the process for Aerospace Corporate facility use and collocation agreements with SYD 89/SCP-PEO government customers
  • Collaborate with SYD 89/SCP-PEO customer POCs, Aerospace Contracts, Facilities and Real Estate organizations, and Aerospace program office POCs to manage facility use and collocation agreements
  • Maintain databases and work with the SYD 89/SCP-PEO organization to update capacity reports, collocation agreements, and facility maps/office assignments on a semi-annual cycle
  • Coordinate badging for collocated personnel to include government customers, civil service personnel, and their support contractors
  • Ensure contract compliance by monitoring and balancing facility space allocation across SYD 89/SCP-PEO organizations
  • Create, analyze, and evaluate metrics to track process progress, including detailed personnel assignment tracking, turnover rates, and facility capacity utilization
  • Maintain comprehensive understanding of facility conditions, track refurbishment project completion rates, and proactively identify future refurbishment needs
  • Coordinate planning for customer-hosted meetings and events in collaboration with facilities, security, and corporate communications
  • Arrange periodic Aerospace on-site facility tours for SYD 89/SCP-PEO customer organizations
  • Continuously improve facility coordination processes and systems to enhance efficiency and organization, including implementation of digital tools and best practices
  • Provide guidance and training to SYD 89/SCP-PEO customers and Aerospace program POCs on facility use processes, collocation procedures, and corporate systems
  • Proactively identify and remediate risks, resolve questions or problems within established policies and procedures, and identify issues and decisions for escalation to the Special Programs Division General Manager
