About The Position
The Annapolis Valley Centre for Education (AVRCE) is seeking Spare Janitors to work on an as-needed basis. This role involves performing a variety of janitorial tasks in various schools within Annapolis, Kings, and Hants County. The position offers flexible hours, primarily evening shifts, and provides a comprehensive training program. Successful candidates will work under the supervision of the Evening Custodial Supervisor and will have the opportunity to gain experience and potentially grow within the organization.
Requirements
- Applicants must be physically able to perform duties.
- Applicants must possess the knowledge and ability to apply current cleaning methods and practices with minimal supervision.
- The candidate must be able to apply sound judgment in recognizing safety hazards throughout the premises.
- Must provide a Criminal Record Check.
- Must provide a completed Child Abuse Registry.

Responsibilities
- Clean all assigned areas of the school in accordance with established practices and standards.
- Perform floor care duties, such as stripping, sealing, waxing, burnishing, etc.
- Other related duties as assigned.
